What is the best Blood Pressure Medication.?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Blood pressure medication

What is the best blood pressure medication with the least side effects ? I have tried Linsinopril, Diovan (valsartan),
Atenolol, Altace. They all bring my blood pressure down some, except for Diovan. It doesnt. The rest have similar side effects. Dizziness, incoherent, lack of energy.
Thank you for your response. I am at risk of a stroke each day.

Unfortunately, all those side effects are very common with most BP medicines. If your BP is at stroke level, the simple fact that the medicine is working causes the dizziness. A sudden drop in your BP to normal levels causes all those side effects. They will get better as your body adjusts to a lower BP. It may take as long as 2 weeks for this to happen though. You might try a very low dose of 1 of those that worked & wait a week or so to slowly increase the dose. That way your body can slowly adjust to gradual decreases in your BP.

From a previous answer, Vasotec is in the same family as Altace & lisinopril so it may have the same side effects. It is a good inexpensive choice. The others you have taken are all good 1st line choices. They actually have some of the better side effect profiles compared with other BP medicines.
Good luck.

What are the implications of a stroke in the left side of the brain?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Stroke

My father had a stroke in the left side of the brain. The doctor said the right side of his brain will now start to dominate the left side. What does all this mean in plain english?

Good Morning,
I had a stroke 20 years ago. It affected my right side. I couldn’t talk for One Year! Not One word! I was 35/asleep/with a terrible headache. The brain will heal it self in time! The cells will Take Over on the side that is NOT affected! You see, I have 1/2 a brain now, working Part time & drawing Soc. Sec. Disability Benfits. I can Talk, but it was a stuggle at the age of 35! Now, I am over 62 years, I thank God for every day because I am Alive. How old is your Father? Please Keep me informed! I will say a prayer for your Father. It is a Tough road to walk. Be Patient with him!

After getting your colon cleansed will it help lower hypertension?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Hypertension

After getting your colon cleansed will it help lower hypertension? I know after getting your colon cleansed you will lose weight but does it lower hypertension?

Hilarious, absolutely not. Colon cleansing is just yuppie crap, it doesn’t do anything but remove fecal material that would have come out later that day anyway. But there are health risks associated with it, like intestinal wall tearing. Don’t do it, there are no benefits and there are some risks, one more risk–wasting money.

Is there any way to make your Blood Pressure lower or higher?

What makes your blood pressure ever change

Certain medicines can make it change that rapidly. Sudden pain can make it increase. There are quite a few things that will make it change, from foods that you eat to how much you sleep.

How can you reduce high blood pressure without medication?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: High Blood Pressure

Already know about DASH (Dietary Approach to Stop Hypertension) and the need to exercise regulaly. Seeking other ways of reducing high blood pressure without medication. Any success stories? and How long did it take?

Nope, I’m still trying to reduce it naturally and have been for over a year, I have lost 2 stone (am now 10 st at 5′7") I train every day (30 mins cross trainer, 20 mins rowing machine, swim 3 times a week) and still have hypertension. I don’t use salt, oil, margerine, and I drink in moderation. I have been on 50 mg Losartan for the past year which keeps my bp somewhere between 135/70 – 140/90.
If you find anything else that does the trick let me know too?!
I am only 30!!!

I have high blood pressure. Does anyone know of a herbal remedy that really works?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: High blood pressure remedy

I was diagnosed with high blood pressure about 4 years ago. I was treated with medication that worked. That was when I had insurance. Now I am in a waiting period for insurance, don’t want to see a doctor because of that pre-existing condition thing, and don’t have any medication left. Is there any herbal medicine or anything else that will bring my blood pressure down without meds? I can’t drink wine before I go to work, although I wish I could. HA! Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

What is the origin of your high blood pressure?
Maybe some other diseases coexist?
If we don’t know that and what kind of therapy you have taken, if you are pre or post menopausal, if your parents had high BP, we can’t talk about natural remedies.
As I use to say, in health one size does not fit all.
According my opinion it is dangerous to try substitute your medicines with herbal remedies of any kind without your doctor’s opinion.

Consider also the following things
- usually, herbal remedies are used along with the medicine
- the form in which you will take the herbal remedy: if you will use garlic, as has been mentioned, what will be the amount that you have to take?
Is garlic proper for your type of hypertension?
If you will drink an infusion(a tea of the herb),what will be the amount of the active substance that will be found in diluition in this infusion? How many cups you have to drink daily?

Try to adopt a healthy life-style that I’m sure you have already adopted, to loose weight, practice some "light" sport like aerobic, walk for 1/2 – 1 hour daily and try to control your stress ; at this point, a herbal infusion containing relaxing herbs is mostly helpful. Take care also if you take any antiinflammatory medicins, as they can slightly increase your BP.

Is there any blood pressure medication besides Methyldopa that i can take during pregnancy?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Blood pressure medication

I had to take methyldopa for high blood pressure with my last pregnancy and it made me feel horrible! I was dizzy and nauseous every time after i took it. Didn’t matter if it was morning or night, any time i took it i suffered. Are there any other medications i can take to mange my blood pressure that are safe to take? i know there are other women out there that have high blood pressure and are pregnant. What do they all do?

Thanks for your help! My Dr. is on Vacation until Friday and i’m too impatient to wait for her answer…LOL! I will definitely bring all your suggestions to the table when i do see her next week though…Thanks!

There are other options. I remember asking my dr the same question when I got pregnant with my 2nd, because I had pre-eclampsia with my first. They said the other options tend to not work as well and have more complications/side effects, but they do have a backup medication for those who can’t use methydopa. I hated being on that stuff. I would pass out after taking it and wake up just in time to have to take it again and pass out. When I was awake I was dizzy and I couldn’t even remember simple stuff like that the long yellow thing you write with is called a pencil. It was bad. Hopefully, you won’t have high blood pressure this time and you won’t need medication at all!

What is the best swimming stroke to tone your whole body?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Stroke

I was wondering if anyone knows the best swimming stroke for whole body toning? I usually do breast stroke… should I continue to do this? I haven’t been swimming properly for months and have just started going again. I want to tone up my stomach, bum and legs (thighs in particular) mostly, obviously it will tone my arms and legs anyway… What stroke(s) do you think I should do – I CANNOT do butterfly by the way before you suggest that. Thanks.

Well different strokes potentionally tone different parts of your body. I would try adding in different strokes, some easier, some harder, such as the freestroke/front crawl, whatever you want to call it. That is one of the toughest ones to continue doing. Also try sidestroke, that might help toning your stomache. I’d research diffrerent strokes on the internet to see what else you can add.
