What medications can be used for heart failure and hypertension?
55 year old jack has been suffering from hypertension for 10 years. Over the last 3 years he has developed episodes of squeezing and crushing chest pain but subsides with rest. He complains of tiredness, poor effort tolerance, becomes breathless when he walks long distances and at night. He has swelling around his ankles that get worse at night but disappears over night. He has rheumatism and the pain gets worse in the afternoon and night. he has smoked for 25 years but quite 3 years ago. His father died of a heart attack and his mother suffered from a mild stroke 5 years ago. She also suffers from high blood pressure. Suggest 5 medications he could take

well I’m not a doctor but i know some people with heart condtions take wolverine to thin the blood.

# 2 lisinopril.
# 3 thiazide
# 4 aspirin
# 5 what does rheumatism means? this is a non specific diagnosis.

Maybe a 500mg Tylenol too. or as needed.

Accupril, management of hypertension; treatment of congestive heart failure
Altace, treatment of hypertension, treatment of congestive heart failure; treatment of left ventricular dysfunction after myocardial infarction; to reduce risk of heart attack, stroke, and death in patients at increased risk for these problems.
carvedilol, mild to severe heart failure of ischemic or cardiomyopathic origin, left ventricular dysfunction following myocardial infarction, management of hypertension
digoxin, treatment of congestive heart failure and to slow the ventricular rate in tachyarrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, and supraventricular tachycardia (paroxysmal atrial tachycardia); cardiogenic shock
enalapril, management of mild to severe hypertension; treatment of congestive heart failure, left ventricular dysfunction after myocardial infarction
furosemide and lasix for diuresis, that is edema management.
nitroglycerin for pain relief, patch or sublingual.
