don’t give up, … don’t give up, brosef. keep pushing yourself. just like that guy said, there’s no substitute for good ‘ol fashioned hard work. if you don’t make it the first time, try again. the resilience to remain stubborn to failure should become natural with maturity, time, and again, hard work.
This video just … This video just helped me understand my sidestroke was wrong all along aha. Thanks to this video, i can work on it a lot better for SWCC.
in front there is a … in front there is a lot of pressure on your shoulder. this caused the shoulder injuries of the swimmers such as grant hacket michael klim and a number of others..
to fix this shorten the time between arm pulls. then after the first pull point your fingers 25 degrees down and rotate through your shoulder until your elbow is nearly pointing up straight…
this may feel strange and very difficult but it is not only better for your body but is far stronger than the a simple side pull…
I love watching … I love watching swimming. i am a swimming coach in Australia i work with many elite athletes.. i am concerned that this stroke, as presented in the video will tend to cause both a single side dominance and shoulder injuries…
the first is easy to over come.. please make sure that if you want to give this a try and do this often that practice on both sides..
the second is more complex but vitally important. When you are on your side, with one arm by your side the other out
SEAL’s and SAS are … SEAL’s and SAS are not totally different. They’re both their countries elite. SEALs go after the biggest bad guys(literally read lone survivor and do CT missions) SAS do pretty much the same lol.
I would like to … I would like to point out to any half smart person out there that **violinmac** knows absolutely nothing and is one of the most arrogant upside-down jack there is.(haha) So don’t even take his comments into thought. Like CaptAdams35 said, “read a book”! Read *****Lone Survivor****** And you’ll see why they(US Gov) send SEALs to the highest of missions.
That’s not entirely … That’s not entirely true. And I am a firm believer of no one is ever better than me just as they’re never any worse. SEALs aren’t considered elite because of jumping out of planes or swimming on beaches(that is ridiculous). They’re elite because of their capability. They’re well organized with the most money in the US put into training and technology for any spec ops group in the military. Technology and training is all. And SEALs have the most advanced of both out of any military in the world.
SEAL, SWCC(really … SEAL, SWCC(really hard to get in because of amount needed), EOD(can possibly be selected for SEAL Team Six aka DevGru, I don’t know much else about EOD’s besides there main mission), Fighter pilot(very hard to get in because of amount needed and selection requirements etc.)
I think I can … I think I can safely say that you wouldn’t be in full gear, because we all know about our boys at the bottom of the ocean off the shores of Normandy…..fell like stones. But then again, I could imagine the SEALS equipment has been designed to be lightweight & efficient.
I’ve seen guys do … I’ve seen guys do low 6mins using this technique. This technique is used on the swimming test but once you are in BUD/s you will do this technique wearing fins. So you’ll do the pulls with flutter kicks. You’ll be swimming long distances in the ocean. This has nothing to do with competitive swimming. Good luck to all in the journey to become SEALs.
this is not olympic … this is not olympic speed swimming, it is all about endurance and prepairing for swimming with gear – do you swim in full combat gear ? – I think you would sink to the bottom like a stone.
is combat swim … is combat swim suppose to be more efficient or something? bc it looks like it’d wear you out faster than regular front crawl and i’m a competetive swimmer and my 500 yard time is under 6 minutes.
my brother showed … my brother showed me how to do this its hard at first but it gets easyer to get the steps but then i got a massive muscle spasm in my right leg and had to stop
